Mike Biver - Volunteer Coordinator

unnamed.jpgMike Biver’s passion is the revitalization of our food system. As the Volunteer Coordinator at the Food Shed, he is really excited about the impact our co-op can have on local, sustainable food production. Mike was born and raised on a small family farm in Illinois, and for the last decade has made a career in volunteer management, development, and governance. After receiving his J.D. and working for a few years in Minnesota, Mike decided to move back to Illinois to be near family. He now lives near Woodstock with his wife, Colleen, and their three young children, where they are exploring small-scale sustainable food production, slowly accumulating a little herd of animals (a sheep, pig, cows, and chickens-with goats, ducks, and geese likely on their way). If you are interested in volunteering with the Food Shed in any capacity (or if you just want to geek out about sustainable food) get in touch with Mike!
