Step 1: Learn Food Shed's Mission & Core Values

Step 2: Learn About Food Co-ops

There are different types of food co-ops, but simply put, the Food Shed Co-op will be a community-owned grocery store. Watch this video on Mississippi Market Natural Foods Co-op in Minnesota for a good idea of this type of food co-op:

Step 3: Familiarize Yourself with Food Shed's Website

The more you visit our website and each page (including our FAQ section), the more you'll understand the Who, What, Why, When and Where of the Food Shed Co-op and how to communicate that to others!

Step 4: Watch Food Shed's Volunteer Training Webinar 

Step 5: Register to Volunteer

If you haven't already, go to our Register to Volunteer page and fill in your skills and interests. At different stages of our development, we'll need different types of skills and talent to help us achieve our goals and will contact you!

Step 6: Volunteer at Outreach Events

The best way to learn how to tell others about the Food Shed Co-op is to volunteer for an Outreach Event - you'll be paired with a veteran volunteer who knows how to talk all things Food Shed! Just listen and learn, and you'll quickly gather the important talking points to share with others.

Step 7: Spread the Word!
